How much Courtney is in this movie?

If I want to watch a movie about Kurt but not Courtney, is this movie for me?

Thanks for a quick reply.

in terms of her interviews she is in it a small amount, in terms of home videos , etc quite a bit, but she was a significant part of his life, and personally i found the videos of them together at home to be the most interesting albeit most depressing part of the film.

Depends. How do you feel about seeing her boobs multiple times?

reply

Any of her is too much for me but you certainly see too much nipple to be comfortable for anyone.

She was his wife! No matter how much you all LOVED him, stop making her the Yoko Ono of the nineties! He loved her. No matter what you think of her, he obviously knew her and saw her differently. I have to defend a man's choice of who he married. And unless one of you were bffl's with him then you don't know how he felt about her.

reply

Precisely, thank you! None of us know what these people are really like, so who the hell are we to judge?

So did John, and still YO is a pain ita. When I see her on stage with Lennon, she is living proof that to every rockstar, there's an anti-rockstar. In terms of being greatly gifted with talent, she is the anti-Lennon.

How is Courtney better than Yoko?

He loved her. No matter what you think of her, he obviously knew her and saw her differently.

That applies to Yoko and John just as much as Courtney and Kurt.

Thy're both women with issues who also get blamed for their husbands issues.

Now I don't really want to compare Kurt and John because Kurt didn't have near the character flaws John had. But Yoko and Courtney are pretty comparable.

I loved Live through This and probably liked that album more than Nevermind. I defended her SO many times because you either love Courtney or want her dead, especially back then there was no in between. Finally got to see Hole in 1999 and it was a bucket list thing at the time. Needed to preface before I say that it took me many years to develop negative feelings towards this woman.
Today I really don't want to hear anything she has to say. I HATE the way she treated the Nirvana legacy situation. I HATE that she diminishes the roles of Dave and especially Krist who was co founder of the band and knew kurt way longer than she did. I hate that she held up you know you're right for years yet played it herself at the Hole unplugged in 95. I hate that she was married to the man for 24months yet took control of the band rights, a band that was krist's as much as kurt's for years.
Watching interviews with Krist, he always speaks so beautifully about Kurt and you can see the loss affected him greatly. He always praises Kurt when people mention Nirvana, Courtney probably has no concept of this kind of selfless behaviour. Now there is rumour she wants to do a Nirvana musical.I seriously hope she gets back into the heroin before this is allowed to come to fruition. ok end rant.

I saw her in 99 AND in 94, they were great. In terms of what she does with the legacy of Nirvana, it was out of fear and LOVE for Bean. If she is working with Frances on anything about Nirvana, don't you think Frances has every right to be working on it? Kurt was clear that he wanted his daughter to have all he had so who are we to question them? As far as Yoko is concerned, she's the primary reason that murdering retarded ass doesn't see the light of day. She wasn't an anti anything. She was just a weird quirky and the LOVE of John Lennon's life. So again, why do people judge famous people's lives like they know them personally? Baffling and I'm absolutely not in the position either. I hope you get that much.

Actually Kurt was looking for a way out of the relationship (factual letter evidence before his death). Everyone who grew up in that time in Seattle knows that which is why we all loathe her. She literally went from relationship to relationship with rock members from Portland to Seattle and clung onto Kurt because he was successful. There is a reason Dave Grohl didn't speak to her for like 20 years before the hall of fame induction and even then it was obvious he was doing it out of courtesy. This is no Yoko Ono. In fact at a prescreening in Seattle there were people who knew Kurt that said that this was primarily from Courtney's perspective and not of the actual person himself. Although his family says opposite, you be the judge.

I think Courtney and her daughter have every right to work on anything related to Kurt Cobain. Unfortunately to use Nirvana songs in any type of musical I assume would require consent from krist and Dave which I hope they explicitly say no to. Kurt was not a solo artist despite what Courtney has tried to convince the world of.

It was very sad to see Kurt in such a state at home. Im sure there were good times but not captured on film. Love is classless then and now. No class. The film slowed down and interest dropped when the home movies started to take over the picture. I know that was the point, to show the home life but thats personal and I dont want to see it. Kurt was a junky and so was she.

reply

Kurt was Nirvana. Nobody else mattered in the success of that band. Dave owes Kurt everything. The Poo Fighters are just awful but the Nirvana fan base just bent over and took it up the arse.

She's obviously sociopathic and manipulative, but she's also a stranger and Kurt Cobain's not coming back.
