The Dog

Nice movie, not without defects though...
I wonder why the dog incident was never mentioned during discussions about the insurance money. Florence noticed it, to her great dismay, and we can understand why she did not bring it up, at least initially. But Marc or his friends surely knew the dog was the cause of the accident. Why did they not use this provable fact to disprove reckless risk taking and / or to throw the reponsibility back onto the production company who allowed a dog to interfere with shooting ??? Or the director forgot about it midway through shooting ?
