Can't Cancel it yet...Word of mouth is just building....
I just finished watching this on Amazon Prime...one of the VERY few things Prime has pushed my way that I ended up liking. The pacing's a little inconsistent, I'll grant you, but overall, nothing else like this is out there....
Anyway, I was searching for news of a Season II, and while nothing's been announced, I AM finding quite a few positive write-ups..."if you liked Stranger Things", "why aren't more people watching this", "the best show you've never heard about", etc.
In other words, the much valued word-of-mouth is really only just beginning. Hopefully, the network powers-that-be will realize this and green-light a second season. For that matter, Amazon itself might pick up Season II, if it's foolishly dropped on it's home turf. (Amazon secured exclusive streaming rights, according to Variety.)
Seems to me the show's got a lot going for it, first and foremost the ability to maintain a genuine air of mystery right up to the (admittedly exasperating) season finale. And the acting I think is fantastic; it can't be easy to maintain that tone of wordless inscrutability without seeming silly...but they've pulled it off beautifully.
