6/10. Here's why / Esta es la razón:
The fact that VICTORIA was shot in a single take is impressive. If it had been the 1st movie to do that, I would've been more forgiving with its flaws. It starts with a Spanish woman (the title character) meeting a group of Germans. The filming format + ad-libbed dialogue + the actors' chemistry with one another = an entertaining dramedy. Once the conversations become more serious, the movie also becomes compelling. And then, at the 1-hour mark, it becomes a crime thriller. There had been moments of foreshadowing, but this shift still feels like it comes out of nowhere because of the unbalanced tone. The plot becomes as generic as a cereal brand that doesn't have a mascot (some scenes are thrilling, others are boring) and the characters lose all of their depth. I mean, I understand that VICTORIA is a desperately lonely foreign resident (she was willing to buy a bartender a drink), but I still didn't buy she would agree to join the guys in their jobs.

El hecho de que VICTORIA fue filmada en una sola toma es impresionante. Si hubiera sido la 1ra película en hacer eso, hubiera sido más indulgente con sus fallas. Comienza con una mujer Española (el personaje titular) conociendo a un grupo de Alemanes. El formato de filmación + diálogos improvisados + la química de los actores entre ellos = una tragicomedia entretenida. Una vez que las conversaciones se ponen más serias, la película también se vuelve cautivadora. Y luego, cuando ha pasado 1 hora, se convierte en un thriller criminal. Habían habido momentos presagiadores, pero este cambio igual se siente como si saliera de la nada debido al tono desequilibrado. La trama se vuelve tan genérica como una marca de cereal que no tiene una mascota (algunas escenas son emocionantes, otras son aburridas) y los personajes pierden toda su profundidad. O sea, entiendo que VICTORIA es una residente extranjera desesperadamente solitaria (estaba dispuesta a comprarle un trago al barman), pero igual no creí que ella estaría dispuesta a unirse a los tipos en sus trabajos.
