Is This a Bastard Who Is Executioner, or Executioner Who Kills Bastards?
Is this show about a bastard who is an executioner, or an executioner who kills bastards?
shareIs this show about a bastard who is an executioner, or an executioner who kills bastards?
shareBoth
shareMy understanding was the title referred to the sword, not the person. There is a type of sword called "bastard sword", see here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classification_of_swords. So, such a sword used for executions could be referred to as Bastard Executioner. I could be completely wrong.
shareHad to chuckle at your thread. Not quite sure, I'd say it is a show about a lot of bullsh!t

Also, the word " bastard" has another meaning which is " not genuine" as in Wilkin being a counterfeit executioner.

shareNot knowing anything about swords, I took the use of "bastard" in the title to mean "false"--he was not the true executioner.
Here's another way to look at it. Let's replace one slur with another.
Imagine if the show was about a man that killed people with a '(n-word) stick'
The show would then be called 'The (n-word) killer'.
Is he a (n-word) that kills people? Or a killer of (n-word)s?
Only Kurt Sutter knows for sure. It doesn't really matter, as long as he fits that hatespeech into the title somehow, FX gets to shout it from the highest tree... as 'advertising'.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the next person who posts this stupid question again is the bastard.
shareOK then what about 'The Purple People Eater', same applies.😀
shareWrong series ;-) - "Defiance" has the purple people eaters http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2189221/reference
shareHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHA
But it's a legitimate question, I admit!
It's about an executioner who serves a bastard
