Why the homophobia?

For a show created in 2015, which has a Moor and a Black Angel apparently to show that racism is bad, they sure seem to like making anyone who isn't 100% heterosexual a villain. Well I guess in the case of the Jon Snow expy he is made into a weak little victim.
Up to episode 5 and we have
The Chamberlain who is either gay or bisexual, villain.
The Baron well not shown in a gay act he is shown looking at the Alter boys/Choir with lust, major villain for the pilot.
The twins bisexual and practice incest, if not outright villains at least punch clock villains.
The Earl of Cornwall bisexual, incest at least a minor villain.
Some guy that looks like Jon Snow allows the Chamberlain to sodomize him and later gets beaten up, weak victim and probably a take that to GOT.

So WTF? I thought all the cool kids were against Homophobia now a days?

You answered your own question. Period drama set in early 1300s; church thoroughly condemned homosexuality. We try not to strain our sensibilities through a 21st century filter.

We do not watch TV shows just for their gayness or non-gayness.

So because the Church preached against homosexuality in the `1300s the only people who would have been gay then would be evil people?

The Jew is not portrayed as what he would have been in the 1300's, back then the blood libel was thought to be true and of course Jews were also noted to be money grubbers but the Jew is treated as an honorable man.

Moors and other Muslims were considered outright devils but the Moor is shown to be an honorable man and loyal friend who is just treated as another villager.

So it is already shot through a 21st century filter, heck even the Catholic Church is shown to be corrupt and that is more consistent with sometime after the 1300's, back in the 1300's the Church was everything to people.

no, that doesn't explain why the PEOPLE were depicted that way. they might be condemned but that wouldn't make them evil.

of course back then they had no concept of sexual labels. it's actually healthier that way.

Do you know anything about history? Look at the time period.

first of phobia implies fear. I have never met a man who is afraid of homos. so why call it homophobia?

second some people don't like to witness homoerotic stuff, so why hate on them?

I'm have you ever even been in a ladies room. We don't all pee in the open. Everything is divided for privacy. You would have no way of knowing if the person in the adjacent stall was a man and a woman.

Oh, btw, ten years ago at my former work there were two transgendered mtf's. They used the women's bathroom all the time and there was never an issue. Ever.
