The Expanse or this? - Colony (2016) Discussion

I love both shows. They are my two favorite shows on TV, currently. Of course they are very different but I don't see why you wouldn't simply enjoy both.

If I was given some "Sophie's Choice'' and had to choose one show it would be The Expanse.

Colony is playing too many "LOST" games and being too nebulous, and seeing that one of the creators is from LOST I'm not surprised. Would hate to see this cancelled with zero answers or BS ending like LOST when they ran out of ideas

I just couldn't get into The Expanse, didn't intrigue me at all, gave up after four episodes.

I enjoy both. If I had to choose though, it would be The Expanse. It took me a while to get into due to the noir early episodes, but they've done a great job at creating this believable universe, rich with politics. It could feasibly continue for several seasons.

Colony on the other hand took too long to get going, redeemed somewhat by strong episodes in season 2. Part of me doubts it will be renewed after the third season.

It's been renewed for Season 3, which I'm glad, but man, they need to speed it up. As you said, there were a bunch of strong episodes in Season 2, they moved things forward, but it's not enough.
Both season could've been told in way less episodes, for one good episode, there's 2 or 3 filler ones.
