The non-white woman and her white parents.

So, I was quite distracted when "Sally" was living with her parents because she is so obviously not all the way white.

The woman who played Sally, Lexa Doig, is part white, but also part Filipino, though she looks very Filipino. Would it have killed them to cast one of her parents as one white person and one non-white person? They didn't have to cast a Filipino. Any Asian or Islander... some sort of yellow or brown would have been great. I've never quite understood Hollywood's insistence on casting two white parents for someone who is so obviously not white.
