But I just cannot enjoy this show. It's painful watching Sir Patrick in such a bad light. I can't believe it's actually getting a second season. It needs to be put out of its misery.
Superior intelligence doesn't necessarily equate to superior intention.
It took me a couple of episodes to warm up to it, but now I love the show. And Patrick Stewart is the best part, although everyone else is pretty darn good, too. Great casting.
shareI think it's just another feather in his cap, a great actor doesn't have to be confined to serious roles. He's a fantastic comedy actor, his cameo in Extras and voice contribution to American Dad have certainly hinted at this. I think it's great to see him in a role that showcases how funny he can be.
It is quite a debauched world they're all in and I can see it wouldn't appeal to everyone. Some of the lines have me in stitches, I love the dialogue between Blunt and Harry.
I think a lot of the people struggled with the show because they expected a straight up comedy. The way I saw it, the show was a tragedy with some comedic elements. I was initially disappointed too, but watching the show through that perspective made me love it.

I'm 6 episodes in. I just don't care about any of the characters or topics. Sadly, I find Harry to be the most interesting character.
