"Love Is Not Linear"--self-parody--but highest rated episode of series?!

Just saw Love Is Not Linear. This episode seemed like self-parody. In the '90s people would say it may have made the series jump the shark.

The characters started to revert to caricatures--and the show featured silly tropes--car chases, gun misfires, all cast on screen at a time, Keystone Cop pratfalls, dream sequences, people being slipped mickeys, contrived "badass women," and dog farts.

And yet, here on imdb, it rated an 8.7. The previously highest episode rating was 8.4, with most episodes coming in at the high 7s and low 8s.

With the inclusion of the last, I'm pretty sure some people reading this will rejoice "YAAHHHH--that's what made it the best episode ever! You just don't understand the complexities of post-modern scatalogical humor.

But, really, it simply have taken a step toward being tired or dumb.

I hope I am wrong. But if not, Blunt Talk did soar for a season and a half....
