At the onset Henry stated to Marie that his 6 month role would bankrole him through the rest of his life, which surely was not the case.

The contract was not for 6 months, it was till the death of the mother which was estimated 6 months by doctors. Mr. Church had an allowance for the rest of his life, that is where the money came from.

I thought the contract was for 6 months, Mr. Church was paid for the rest of his life. That was his money used after 6 months. He felt an obligation because he promised to be there for the mom until her death. Completely his money,empathy and love for the daughter after moms death. They were a beautiful family!
