So, how clueless can Hollywood be...?

A) It's Texas. Texas, despite leftist fantasies, was years behind most of the nation in concealed carry and open carry.

B) Women are the fastest growing demographic for firearms ownership. So how's that going to work into the... *ahem* ... "plot", for lack of a better word?

C) Most women are not uneducated knee-jerk leftists and most women do not try to control others via sexual threats and intimidation.

D) What IS it with the left and sex? This constant drone about genitalia and orientation and the encouraging of abuse has turned off more people than about anything else the left could do.

E) Does Hollywood *like* making movies that flop? Because this is another guaranteed flop. But maybe they can work out some kind of crossover with Ghost Busters. That'll go over for sure...

A) It's a movie filled with stereotypes top to bottom. And the stereotype of Texan carry is much stronger than reality.

B) No, no, you don't understand. Almost all women are against firearm ownership, and you're sexist if you think otherwise. It must be so!

C) Eh, it's a modern take on the Lysistrata (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysistrata); the "controlling via sex" thing is an old, old concept, explored in many ways. Given its already-prevalent use of stereotype and straw man, this is actually a pretty low-level offence.

D) Yeah, the obsession about gun owners' penises is rather off-putting. But you knew that before you wrote your post.

E) It's a Message Movie. Popularity isn't important as long as it Tells A Story and can be given out in DVDs to help mend people's ways. Or something. It'll lose money, which means it'll act as a tax write-off for the producers.

The left has made great strides in Obama's 8 years at demonizing guns and gun owners.

You'll never hear them mention the fact that they are scared of such a tiny percentage of one of the most law-abiding groups of people in the country.

100 million legal gun owners in the USA
Roughly 12,000 gun murders per year based on the last few years FBI statistics

So there's this massive movement to demonize these people, of which approximately 0.00012% will kill someone any given year, and that's making the incorrect assumption that all 12K murders will be by legal gun owners. We all know it's mostly inner city gang violence by people with previous criminal charges who never should be on the streets in the first place, but we can ignore that just to show the ridiculousness of the movement against one ten-thousandth of a percent.

Then we have the demonizing of the NRA, which has a rich history of fighting for the rights of minorities and supports all our freedoms... But, they are just evil people who prevent "reasonable" gun laws from being passed.

Recently a leaked recording of someone on Hillary's campaign came out, someone asks her "how do we ban guns" Her answer mentions doing it a little at a time under the guise of "reasonable" or "common sense" laws so that people will go along with it, vs going for an all-out ban right off the bat.

But, yeah, the left doesn't want to ban guns and owners are just paranoid and obsessed.

Most people wouldn't marry someone who would withhold sex for some leftist dream, the guys I know would laugh at their women if they tried.

People just don't understand the importance of the 2nd Amendment. I didn't either until a few years ago. But, I always supported it.

Only fools and cowards want to strip the freedoms of overwhelmingly law-abiding people because of what a tiny percentage of a percentage do with said freedom.

Compare it to alcohol if you wish... Where's all the cries to end the obsession on Alcohol, which kills WAY more than guns each year. 2 to 4 deaths every two hours from drunk driving.

Guns are a constitutionally protected right which can save yourself and your family, as well as put food on the table.

Alcohol can give you a buzz...

We don't restrict the majority of people, who can use alcohol responsibly, because of what a small number of idiots do with it.

Neither should we do so with guns.

Well, it made $40,000 in a month! it's a certified blockbuster!

Or, it's yet another lesson the left simply won't learn.
