It would have been interesting to have Tommy Lee Jones reprise his character Sam Gerard from The Fugitive and US Marshals since he hunts down a fugitive in this movie like he does in the those films. In fact, there could be an entire series of Sam Gerard movies:

Interesting concept. They should also have made the guy in the Men in Black movies Sam Gerard, for even more crossover potential.
