Nicola Walker is a great actress but man is she harsh looking

No way is she harsh looking, she has one of the most expensive and deeply emotionally tender faces of any actress out there at the moment... Hardly harsh, just not conventionally 'pretty'!

She's not unattractive. She just plays very grounded roles that don't require her to look glamorous.

Great actress and her scene with Mark Bonnar was intensely emotional and moving for both of them. Brilliantly acted without having to "chew the scenery"

She has beautiful eyes and is a great actress. In "real" life, rather than "reel" life, she would be considered quite attractive. Somehow in the US, actresses have to look like cover girls, no matter how implausible it is for their role. And even the female detectives have to dress like they want men to come on to them, which would hardly be useful in that line of work in "real" life.

I think that's one of the reasons I prefer British productions to US ones. Detectives with cleavage in stilletoes looking like are ready to go clubbing seems ridiculous. The British actresses are allowed to look like real women living regular lives.

On the outside attractiveness scale, Cassie is prettier than Sunny. Why don’t you comment about his mediocre, pudgy looks?
