I like the premise of this show, but the characters have such weird, unreal reactions and conversations. It seems to often go like this:
James: What's going on? What do you know?
Elishia: (stares for about 5 seconds) I don't know anything.
James: (stares for about 5 seconds) Okay. (walks away)
WTF? The dead are walking, and that's the best you can do?
I thought the same thing. The dialog and the reactions of the characters were too weird at times. They just didn't mash well. Maria had the strangest interactions out of all of them I thought. They were a little over the top. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed.

and other dialogues and reactions seemed unreal to me. I attributed to bad scripting.
If they don't even remember dying, what makes you think they would remember if there's an afterlife or not?

That's just it, we don't know what they remember. No one even asked, "What's the last thing you remember?"
shareA few characters get asked what's the last thing they remember, but none of them answer and the issue is always dropped immediately.
And Beau is the only character I remember asking what death is like.
But yeah, once there memories started returning, people had given up asking them questions. Which makes, just so much sense...

People do this when they have more information than they want to let on. When you get to the end, Elishia's evasiveness becomes much more understandable.
