There didn't have to be a "point" to make anybody in the film Hispanic. There are black Hispanic people, and yes there are places where black and Hispanic people actually meet and sometimes date or marry each other (like in Detroit, with its large black and Latino populations, or in the South, or New York.) Nothing weird or strange about it, except to the OP, apparently.

I think it was for two reasons, one to add some diversity to the movie ( nothing wrong with that)
