Anyone else being 'forced' to see it...?

I'm curious, who else out there might be on the hook to go see this flick just because their kids will b $$$ and nag to go see it ? I mean I've been stuck through some painful movies for the sake of letting my kids watch some crap they thought they liked. The Smurfs (1), Twilight (part 2 & 3), Planes Fire & Rescue(car's rip-off), all the re hashed princess movies from Disney. Wonder what else you've been stuck with. ..

Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for being a parent. Suck it up.

It could be the other way around and there are kids crying in theater while watching a movie you like. Sometimes it's just not worth having kids.

I think you missed the point of my rant, you may not have kids. I gladly do it within reason, u don't sour up their lives just cause u can't stand a movie, but bitching about it keeps u sane...Ha...
But, to you're point, I know exactly what u mean about crying kids. I could never do that to other people since I know what it feels like, and I've missed a few good movies because of it. It sucked but oh well.

Hey Frozen and Tangled were good movies.

If you're happy and you know it, go sit in the corner and think about your life.

Ha, I actually regret sleeping through the lego movie. It got really good reviews. took me about 2 months to get that theme song or of my head though.

The Lego Movie was kind of meh for me actually.

You can always tell your kids to wait for the DVD.

I thought the title of this thread was a Star Wars reference...

As if fans have to see everything with the Lucasfilm name on it.

Get high or comfortably drunk before it starts.

Then take your kids to the local junk food emporium afterwards.

Much better movie experience for everyone, and you'll get sober by the time it's time to drive home.
Or just call the other parent to pick you all up.

glock78, What terrible parental advice... although... I'm thinking paired with a nice Riesling...

I wouldn't mind being dragged to Twilight, actually. They're pretty bearable on their own, especially compared to some of the worst films of all-time.

The only movie I ever got "dragged" into seeing was Godzilla because my mom's a die-hard Godzilla fan.

Winter is coming

It really isn't a bad movie, just okay. Just enjoy the music, it's pretty good.

I am, with my two friends who insisted it was hilarious and cool. I'm about halfway through now and I'm so bored I'm looking it up on IMDB to see if anyone else is in agreement with me.

Update...FYI...I ended up renting it on Amazon, since I couldn't bring myself to pay anymore than that at the movies...My two boys seemed somewhat exited to see it...One of them got up yawned and walked away about 15 mins into it without saying a word. The other one last about another 5-10 minutes before he asked, "...Dad, is there anything else..." I immediately shut the thing off, looked for a different movie and was able to save the family movie night...

I don't think it's a horrible film, I just think it's set up for failure...Maybe if it wasn't a musical or if it hand original songs...But it was just one lame scene delivery trendy songs after another. Godawful if you ask me...

To me the biggest fault of the movie is just that it's full of mistakes. Practically everything that happens is typical kid's-movie schlock with no real originality. The one thing I liked was the design of the Bog King, who did look very cool and creepy, and I like that he stayed that way even with the happy ending, unlike 'Beauty & The Beast'
