If not for all the damned hippies that got this show cancelled!

What happened? I heard the show was too expensive, and Season 3 was just bad.

The too expensive part may be true, I don’t know, but for me, season 3 was awesome. The season 3 premiere was among the best episodes of the series and the season 3/ series finale was up there with the series premiere and was about as perfect of a finale as any series ever. I’m grateful I guess since if you think about it, there were 30 episodes of around 30 minutes apiece. That makes 900 minutes total which would be the equivalent to 10 full length movie sequels to evil dead / army of darkness. This show was awesome.

Bruce was done with the character. He retired Ash. We as fans would always ask for more Evil Dead.

My belief on why it ended was that they put it on a channel without much traffic. If it had been on another channel, it may have survived a bit longer.

I'm glad it ended when it did. Season three was the weakest and I'd rather it finish before it got worse. Too many TV shows get really bad after the 3rd season.

I totally get that, but I liked season 3 just fine, personally, and I would have loved to see where they went with the show in the future. However, I also agree with your point that too many shows go for too long and lose their spark.

I kinda like how the series was open-ended if only because the movies all had open-endings too.
