What a tale indeed...

An heiress was easy prey in those days. When a woman married she handed over all of her funds to her husband. Lady W marries for love and he married her to pimp her out for his own perverted gain. When she becomes wise to this and leaves him he causes a scandal in court. He really did see her as property which could be used and disposed of as he saw fit. I'm glad she exposed him. They never divorced and she was not happy with her new lover. The justice was served when Sir Richard Worsley died and gave her her freedom once and for all. Lady W eventually married for love again, and it was a happy marriage. Good for her!
