I heard a good review of it too. I'm a fan of Hannah Murray so i'll definitely be checking it out.

It is great. Tough to watch, but definitely worth it.
Jeppe Rønde succeeds in depicting how the teenagers' suicides link to one another and what impact it has on them. He really goes in depth with each character and makes you feel empathy for even the most *beep* up ones.
Seeing as the last teenager to tragically died in 2013 this film is incredibly insensitive to those who are still suffering and seeing as apparently it was 6 years in the making this is disgusting as families are still suffering. Im glad bridgend are banning the film and hope that all of south wales from tenby to bloody cardiff ban this disgusting revolting "film" from their cinema
shareSo basically no movie should be made because it could offend someone who is insensitive towards the material?
shareI think a lot would depend on how and why the film was made before you can label it so harshly. Ultimately you'd actually have to watch it to judge but as a former native of the general area I think I'll be giving this one a miss - even if it does have Hannah Murray in it.
I've seen similar criticism for the film London Road which I have watched though I suspect most of the haters have not. In that case I think the film was sensitively and honestly made and it was the label 'Musical' that people were reacting against.
This film would not hurt anyone, this was very tastefully made. The people suffering the loss of a suicide from that town will have grieved every night before it happened and every night after, regardless of this film.
You have overreacted quite a bit, I understand it is very a very emotional subject, but I knew a lot of people that do not have life due to suicide, and many parents, aunts, sister ETC... People prefer others to know, because it is something they can not explain once hit with it, the more that is known about things, the better we humans get at understanding and altering the flow of life. The only way to prevent something, is to understand it, the only way to understand it, is to talk about it, etc.
There have been many more since 2013, over a 100 in total in fact. The police told the press to stop reporting the suicides.
There's a documentary called Bridgend made in 2013. It's worth a look, but it's pretty depressing also!
I'm glad this film wasn't banned everywhere, because even though it's not great by any means it has brought awareness to the issue of teens committing suicide in Bridgend, albeit, that's still something the police hasn't been able to stop.
By the film's tone, it seems like the suicide deaths are a cult thing which a teen needs to die to fill that gap. Whatever for.
It really isn't that great. You spend half the movie saying WTF?, and trying to decipher their mumbling accents...
shareI watched with subtitles, but even so, this is a spectacularly bad film. This writer/director spent six years researching and interviewing people and then came up with this trash? Really unbelievable. The documentary (also named Bridgend) is infinitely better than this.
I defended The Walk when it was released and people were complaining, "why do we need this when there's a great documentary? (Man on Wire)", and I find myself saying the same thing about this film. Who thought this script/director should make this film. Just horrible. 3/10
It wasn't great I agree but it was good enough to bring awareness to others that aren't aware of it. And regarding their accents, I've not had any problems, I understood them perfectly.
