Huh?

From Wikipedia:

"Bridgend is a county borough in South Wales, UK. The county borough has a total population of 139,200 people, and contains the settlements of Bridgend, after which it is named, Maesteg, and the seaside town of Porthcawl."

Or you could go to www.bridgend.gov.uk, where you will find this address:

Bridgend County Borough Council,Civic Offices, Angel Street, Bridgend, CF31 4WB

The OP is right (partly), as are you.
Bridgend is a town that is in the borough of Bridgend, which is in the county of Glamorgan, or Mid Glamorgan (not Glamorganshire), which is in the country of Wales. South Wales is only a term to describe an area and is not an actual location name.
Some maps show Glamorgan split into separate Wsst, Mid and South areas depending on if they use historic or preserved county names.

Why the OP felt the need to post just that little bit of info is another thing.
