Are you getting pissed now? So am I.

Brad just has such a wide array of emotions.

LOL! I have to agree with him more often than not. Some of the things "stolen" are likely sitting in some rich person's office or basement in a "private collection." There's quite a bit of evidence and a historical trend of this. I hate it!

Hey you!

Yeah, I think my dentist has Washington's upper bridge sitting in a display case in his office... 

I was flipping through the TV channels and ran across this episode. Since I found the trailer on here and saw +Brad Meltzer himself was posting to the comments, I have a few questions for him about the missing White House cornerstone.

With phrases such as, "Would you believe the cornerstone of the White House; missing?" and, "But what if I told you the most important stone in the building, the cornerstone, is missing? Sounds unbelievable? It's not," it seemed at first to make a compelling case for the stone being gone. Well, after watching this episode, yeah, it is unbelievable. You start by spinning this tale about how the Masons laid the cornerstone then went out and got drunk. And with no evidence other than some apparent rumor printed in a newspaper in 1792, you claim the cornerstone was stolen or lost to construction, which technically, all cornerstones are lost to construction, as they become part of the building's foundation. Then you essentially accuse Harry Truman of stopping looking for the cornerstone during the White House renovations in 1948 due to nefarious motives. But you slipped up later in the episode. When Barbara Bush had VA DOT bring in their ground penetrating radar which clearly indicated the cornerstone's plaque is EXACTLY where it is supposed to be, you discard that scientific evidence saying it, "might be still located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue," and still encouraged viewers to look for something that obviously isn't missing. So what do you want to do, Brad, tear down the White House to satisfy your curiosity? This episode cost the History Channel credibility, and considering the crap they air now, that's quite an accomplishment. Bravo!
