Lost D-Day footage?

Just saw the episode with the lost Dday footage. I consider myself fairly up-to-date on military history of WW2, particularly ETO. I've never heard of this story before. Basically what he said was there was an American spy in the Normandy region who recorded perhaps the first 2 hour of the invasion on 6/6/1944. He returned to England with his reels, turned them over to the OSS where they were set up in a screening room. Prior to them being screened, the videographer was forced to leave because the film was 'top secret' and the reels vanished, never being seen since that day.

They were declassified in 1994 (50 years after the date) and their existence supposedly confirmed by the government, but nobody has been able to locate them since.

I never heard of this before, but if that type of film was shot and does exist, it would be absolutley amazing to view today.

Lmao, they made him leave ? Were they were afraid he might see something ? As if he wasn't the one recording it!
