Very well made but..

I just don't buy the premise. In the previous films we've seen marines, special forces and all kinds of trained fighters with modern weaponry trying to take on the Predator and fail. How are we supposed to believe that a bunch of medieval warriors with swords and crossbows stand any chance?

The film was very nicely made, most of the actors were good, some of the characters were memorable and the footage taken from previous films was well integrated visually and story-wise. I dare say that it stands above many AAA studio productions in some aspects.

I think that an interesting idea would be to have the Predator be less advanced itself to "match" his opponents. For instance, the plasma caster was just a cheap trick in these battles. Maybe he could have some sort of advanced mechanical spike launcher (operating like his blades), to be in similar footing with the (cross)bow bearers.

To me I found this short movie extremely short lived

Its probably a matter of budget and being careful not to step on the toes of the original studio. To me it was a quite impressive little piece of film but without knowing its budget its hard to say anything sensible about it other than that. By the looks of it the cast en the director really knew what they were doing but then again this is/was a very small production compared to any full featured flim.

You could be hunting a group of Navy SEALS or a bunch of guys armed with spears. Either group is easy to kill when you're invisible sitting in trees armed with advanced alien weaponry.

What matters is the person(s) who shows prowess and the will to fight, which is typically the observed alpha of whatever group the Predator is watching. Also the ability to outsmart the Predator helps. And having a bit of luck on your side too, as evidenced by everyone who has ever killed a Predator.

I was really impressed by this film overall, they really made the fullest of whatever their small budget was (a good quality aerial shot really takes things up a few notches).

In reply to you not buying the premise: In the original, elite soldiers with their modern weapons get decimated by the Predator with no difficulty at all. He only gets beaten when Dutch goes medieval (pun intended) on his ass. Mud, fire, spikes, traps... It's back to basics, primal, and Dutch wins because he's quick and has the will to survive.

In "Predators" (in my opinion the only serious and good other Predator film), same goes for Adrien Brody's character. He kills it by beating it to a pulp with a club/axe, not with a ray-gun, so I'd say the premise is believable in this film too.

I know it's a fanfilm and they really tried but this felt like Predators all over again. A complete rehash of the original's lines etc... it just comes of as a hussle. When the knight puts on his helmet, it just makes me laugh.

Why the predator design had to be an exact copy of the original's is also beyond me, the dreads also looked way too clean, they should have dirtied him up a little more!

Yet, in the first film, it took a half naked Arnold covered in mud that defeated the Predator with logs and sticks =/ so....

Haha, spot on pal! Agree with earlier post that it would have been cool if the pred had teched down a bit. I'd be well up for a franchise continuation pitting excellent warriors from throughout history up against the Predator/s.

Spartans be sweet, but Samurai!? Now there's a movie. A samurai with super heightened senses and insane skills and focus (basically Jubei offa ninja scroll) Vs would make a worthy and believalbe opponent while also making my nerd gland pop!

Again though, your point is flawless. You ugly mother .... :)
