Ultima Lucha 2 Discussion

So, only the Unique Opportunity matches tonight, and a whole lot of Dario Cueto.

This was like an ECW show from the hardcore action to the surprise debut of Dr. Wagner Jr. Good, but not really Lucha Underground.

Week 2 of 3 was pretty good, but the matches weren't classics.

The 7 way match was a little too frantic for me, but the way Sexy Star can tell a story, and her whole two season journey, has been impressive to watch.

King Cuerno and Mil Muertes destroyed each other and the crowbar and three table spots were great, but there have been bloodier and more physical wars in this company.

The ending with Dario killing Mr. Cisco was like something out of an edgy cable drama. I loved itl

The following is my opinion on the second part of ULD. I posted it on Facebook and i am copying it from there so that i wont have to rewrite it. Comment your opinion on it and say if you agree or not with me and why.


Alright. Just finished watching the second part of Ultima Lucha Dos.Last week i commented on how amazing i found the first part of ULD [i gave it 9/10]. This week though i was a bit disappointed and i will rate the episode with 5/10. Now before the online believers come tear me apart allow me to explain my rating. Lets start with the first match. It was the match for the gift of the gods. We had Sexy Star, Mariposa, Killshot, Marty the Moph, Sinestro,Daga and Nightclaw. They all showed skill and endurance. My favourites in the match based on performance were Killshot and Nightclaw. The match was great at its beginning. But as it went on i was bothered by some things. One was Mariposa. Mariposa [Cheerleader Melissa] in the Temple has been seen being a powerful and strong wrestler. She has endurance and she has the strength and size to cause a lot of damage. In this match though i felt that she was a lot underused. The only thing she did was performing a finisher in Killshot with the help of Marty. Plus some kicks to Sexy. But aside from that she didnt do much even though being this long in the match. Not only that but she gets KOed by a single punch by Marty. Are you kidding me here? A single punch and she is KO??? I know a punch can knock out people. I have never been punched before but i am certain that someone as strong as Mariposa couldnt be KOed by that. Her loss felt forced. A similar complain i have about Marty. In all his matches in season 2 we have seen him being the creepy dude but he knows when to put that aside and use his size and strength to cause some damage. Yet when he was alone in the ring with the Sexy Star he only used that size and strength once. Plus earlier he is seen lifting Daga and throwing him in the corner while he was attempting a submission. While he and Sexy Star were in the ring most of the time he just bragged and talked trash. Why wasnt the strength he has shown??? Sexy winning by submission was logical given that Martys arm must have been made quite valnurable after being put into 2 submissions before the one Sexy used to win but i still feel that this match wasnt ok. Still i hope all the wrestlers involved will heal and rest. Now on the match between Querno and Mil Muertes. It was brutal! Mil beat the living hell out of Querno and respect to the guy for surviving all that damage and fighting for as long as he did and i hope he recovers. Mil did a good job in unleashing his inner rage. So if this match was this good why did the score for the episode go down? The answer is that this was supposed to be a Death Match. Now from what i have heard Death Matches come from Japan and when one happens it involves many still chairs being used as weapons [mostly inside the ring] and sharp objects. But in this match we saw only tables being used. The items in the band area and the chairs dont count as they were used out of necessity when the wrestlers were in these spots! Heck the match between Cage and Mack last week had more weapons in it and it wasnt a death match. So these are the reason i was disappointed with this weeks episode. It was average in my opinion.
