Robots on the Moon
I'm confident that most viewers made the calculation in their heads, but for those who didn't:
The robots are programmed to fear dying so being solar powered they walk (or run) continuously to stay in the sunlight. The Moon has a circumference of 6786 miles and makes one rotation, relative to the Sun, in 28 days. So the robots must move about 242 miles per day or just a shade over 10 miles per hour with no stopping. I hope they are also programmed to avoid the craters and the mountains.
The average adult walks briskly at about 4 to 5 miles per hour, or runs at 7 to 9 miles per hour. So those robots must really get at it to stay ahead of the darkness.
I wonder how they react to a total Lunar eclipse?
