Synthesis of 80s sitcom and anti-sitcom

Richie Rich is an interesting synthesis of the 80s high concept sitcom (Small Wonder, Alf, Silver Spoons), with its 2-dimensional characters, intrusive laugh track, and implausible scenarios and parodies of such programs (at least, I think the latter is intentional). It nearly gets into Bojack Horseman or Too Many Cooks territory, while still enjoyable as a straightforward sitcom/wish fulfillment for kids. It does have some good life lessons, e.g. money can't replace education. It seems smarter and more self-aware than Disney kiddie sitcoms like Lab Rats.

I agree with those who complained that the maid uniform was too revealing and fetishistic for a kids' show. It should have been toned down. That said, the actress playing the maid had impeccable timing and deadpan delivery of her lines, and stole many scenes.
