spoilers i found the reason why this movie ended the way it did interesting

i heard that despite the blind man doing what he did that the writer thought with the moral gray stuff in this movie that people would feel bad he died and i wonder if we will want him to die in the sequel or if there will be villain that we will not supposedly feel this way if he or she dies
