5.6??

What the *beep*? This is easily one of the best movies of the year.
9/10.

I can't believe how many times I see threads like these. Don't worry about what other people are rating it. You thought it was a 9. Focus on that. You could have used this venue to share a positive review of the movie and maybe talk a few people who were on the fence into seeing it.

But instead you used it to complain that other people didn't like the film as much as you think they should have.

I am seeing the film this weekend. I hope it's as good as you rated it.

reply

Sure, but it's sad to see that such a great film is so under appreciated. 5.6 is just shocking.

I loved it and rated it appropriately. Seems some people wanted it to be some kind of one-dimensional laugh riot.

It's now 6,3 which is still way too low. I loved it and gave it a 9/10. Such a beatiful and funny movie. Felt very real to life.

Gregoire is probably right. I think a lot of people saw 'a comedic writer' and 'molly shannon' and thought they were getting some snl skit stretched thin, peppered with lowbrow, potty humor.

I gave it an 8.
Jesse Plemons and Molly Shannon are both perfect in their leading roles. Maude Apatow's talented parents must be proud they've passed it to their progeny. The rest of the cast were great..and everyone was realistic, always nice since Hollywood takes issue with that.

Tl;dr - totally worth a watch, just not when you want to watch a comedy.

I guess that just means that we can't trust low, or high, ratings on here.
