I really want to like this

but for some reason i find it really cheesey and unrealistic. Maybe it's because I've been using computers since the early eighties (too unrealistic 'nuts and bolts'), or because i just hate (strong word, but this IS imdb) the lead character. I was just wondering if there is anyone who DOESN'T love this show?

If there's one thing I disliked about not the series but season 2 is that it didn't feel as good as the first one, it sort of felt rushed and not as creative as it could've been. Perhaps season one rose the bar too high for its own good and now it makes (some) viewers appreciate one over the other.

On the contrary, this is one of the better behaved IMDb forums, even with the detractors. Your post, for instance, mentioned your general dislike for the show without trolling at all, so bravo.

However, just as a counter, I've been using computers since at least the early 80s as well, and while there's been a couple of minor goofs, I don't find the technical aspects to be "cheesey and unrealistic" in the least bit.

I'm also immune to actors I dislike. For instance, I think Tom Cruise has been doing some great films lately, but I will avoid any and all media showing him talking otherwise. So I wouldn't have let a dislike of Rami Malek get in the way of me enjoying this excellent show.

The real stuff is boring. No one wants a show with a camera looking over some dude's shoulder as he pores over network logs and runs scans.

So I definitely understand why a show like this needs to streamline that stuff, turn every hacking sequence into a montage, and set it to music. I don't blame them for that either, although it's been more than 30 years since movies like Wargames and you'd think directors would've figured out better ways to shoot computer sequences.

Also, Elliot seems to get really dumb right when the writers need him to, then regains his intelligence. That's never a good thing in a show like this.

I invented the internet and I like the show.
