How did Elliot keep his apartment all the while he was in jail?
I don't think it is specifically accounted for. However, Tyrell remarks about how helpful their "friends" are (Dark Army). They got him out of prison, so I suppose I could imagine they also arranged to have a place for him to live when he got out. They did account for Qwerty...Angela had him and it was getting fat. And they did account for the new computer equipment. Sutherland bought it. So I guess it would have been nice if they had addressed his apartment too.
My best guess....Dark Army arranged it....I dunno
