Darlenes BF died...anyone upset?

He was under direct orders of TDA. He wanted in with them. He was willing to allow himself to remain involved with them even after they would torture him. Perhaps he even owed them...

His involvement with them was never fleshed out beyond what we saw. Maybe we'll find out more later, maybe not. You're right, it did have an abrupt ending, but i've learned to never underestimate the makers of this show.

As for the "feelings" I might have had or not for him...

I started hating him 'cos Darlene was in love with him. You could tell this from the jump!

So I was jealous... and hating... but he was in love with her too, and it was real and apparent from the start as well.

And he respected Elliot.

reply

No I hated him

reply

I would have liked to see his character continue to grow and be involved in the story. I hope they realistically portray Darlene as someone who has just lost her boyfriend. I know she's a tough chick, but they better not just continue on the show without her mentioning it much at all.

reply

I actually thought she killed him herself with the baseball bat until he re-appeared, so I'm not sure how much she REALLY cared about him.

That's what we need - ridiculous odds, and just a speck of hope that someday, we'll beat it

reply

Did they ever show/tell us what happened with the bat?

reply

Yes. When Elliot goes to Cisco's apt. (I think), he is in the bathroom and hears them yelling. "You hit me with a freaking bat!" he says. I can't remember her reply but she doesn't sound sorry .She's still angry that he was sending video of her to the DA. Then Elliot hear's Mr. Robot telling them to calm down. This is around the time MR starts to tell Elliot he feels "weird", as if they're separating.

I followed all the rules...and you followed none of them. And they all loved you more.

reply

I'm not remembering, but did they show his dead body?

reply

Well the biker shot up the Mexican restaurant with a machine gun, so fairly sure he's dead, just curious how Darlene made it out without a scratch!

reply

good aim. Darlene was not the target and the Dark Army know better than to go after Mr Robot's sister

Actually he was more mature than Darlene -see the discussion when he says she is not a leader and the group couldn't live up to the hack's consequences. He saved that injured guy's life while Darlene killed the lawyer and was about to kill this guy. She is a murderer.
Besides, Cisco talks Chinese, not an easy task perhaps
It was highly probable that Cisco would have been eliminated from the movie (killed) since he was a secondary character to the whole plot. A pity though as he was an interesting guy.

reply

He is a mixed bag, as are most people in a couple's rel. I didn't like him much after he sent pics of her to the D.A. but she seems genuinely broken up after what happens to him (re: what she said to that jerk, Dom, during questioning).
And hey...he speaks Mandarin! A big plus.

reply

Cisco was a pretty run-of-the-mill character until his last appearance.

reply

they put a needle under his fingernail and snapped it off. it was likely just to cause pain rather than to inject him with anything
