Maximus and Black Bolt

Like nearly everyone on this forum I am finding Inhumans to be exceedingly slow and plodding and agree that almost nothing has happened even though we are 7 episodes in.

I am still watching because I love most Marvel shows and I believe that the 'universe' has so much potential.

One thing I have found really boring is Iwan Rehons performance as Maximus.
I can't quite wrap my head around the fact that this is the same actor who was completely mesmerising as Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones!

Anyone else find his performance dull and lacklustre? Just bad writing? Zero chance so far of any character development? Or perhaps is something literally lost in translation because he is putting on an American accent? I just don't understand why he is so bland as the villain.

On the other hand, even though Anson Mount doesn't say a word, I find his performance quite riveting. I love the idea of a main character communicating only in sign-language. I hope they do more with it.

I hope the show improves and I'll keep hanging in for a while longer.

I like the actor quite a bit. But for sure the bad writing is the problem here. He has a lot of screen time and he isn't ever given much to say! He just kind of mopes around and just keeps bitching about the same crap over and over again.

And could the finale have been more underwhelming? Virtually no meaningful action is taken by ANY of the characters in the show. They just run around and in the end, get stuck on Earth, where we all knew they were gonna end up before the first episode even aired. They could have condensed all 8 episodes into one good two hour pilot.

I hope Agents of SHIELD at least puts a few of these characters to use in their show.
