Why did Tony blame Steve in the beginning of Endgame when it was him who left?

He was the one who forced the accords, he left for space, why is HE mad?

reply

Tony still believes he was right about the accords, and Cap was wrong. Cap took the side of the man that murdered his parents. He blames Cap's team for what happened to Rhodey. He absolutely believes it is Cap's fault that the Avengers are fractured, and therefore weren't ready to be by his side from the beginning of Infinity War. Without him saying it ever, I know he believes that as a team they could have stopped Dr. Strange from being taken after the street fight in New York, or at the very least could have defeated Thanos on Titan.

Tony's one of those people who just isn't happy unless he has something to rant about.

If I knew him in real life, I'd probably love him at first, and then want to choke him after knowing him a while.

reply

Well for starter, Bucky murdered Tony's parents and Cap just let's him get away with it.

Then there was the fact that Tony is right about Earth needing protection. Tony tried to put something in place and the anti-accords side wanted none of it.

Then there was the fight that left Rhody paralyzed.

Cap is NEVER wrong and Tony is fed up with it.

I never understood one thing. How could Cap know about Tony's parents? Was Tony just mad because Cap was watching out for Winter Soldier?

reply

Because the three of them sat there and watched the video together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoUTmL2Wwcc

reply

They're talking like Steve already knew. What I wanted to know is: How did he know? They don't play him as the type to condone assassinations.

reply

"They don't play him as the type to condone assassinations."

What do you mean? He defended Bucky the second Tony tried to go after him. Not that he was "ok" with what Bucky did, but his primary concern was Bucky's safety, not Tony's or Bucky being brought to justice.

I haven't seen all the movies all the way through or in order in a while enough, so I don't remember every detail, but I'm guessing he read it somewhere. Cap did lots of secret missions with Natasha for Fury.

In Winter Soldier, when Cap is shown Hydra’s missions over the years, we briefly see a news clipping of the Starks’ deaths. When Cap was asked about the deaths, he said he didn’t know it was Bucky. That seemed to be true at first but I imagine he found out tue whole truth when he and Sam were searching for him.

reply

That explains a lot. I missed Winter Soldier. Thank you.

reply

No worries. That little bit went by fast.
