[Endgame Spoiler Alert] Black Widow sacrificed the same way as Gamora did...

, yet they brought Gamora back by traveling to the past. Why can’t they do the same and save Natasha too?

reply

GAMORA CAME TO THE FUTURE WITH PAST VERSION THANOS AND WAS SNAPPED AWAY WITH THE REST BY IRON MAN...GAMORA IS DEAD IN MCU RIGHT NOW SAME AS BLACK WIDOW...ALTHOUGH THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO BRING HER BACK,PROBABLY IN GUARDIANS 3,ALA THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK.

reply

Except Gamora isn't dead in the MCU right now. That's why at the end of Endgame it shows Star-Lord trying to locate her with the navigation on his ship.

Why would she have been snapped away with Thanos and the rest of his forces when she wasn't fighting alongside them?

reply

BECAUSE SHE IS FROM THE OTHER TIME LIKE THE REST....SHE IS GONE...DEAD AS OF NOW...PERIOD.

reply

Why would that automatically kill her? Without knowing what exactly Iron Man intended when he snapped, we can't know for sure that she's dead.

Besides there's a deleted scene that shows her still alive after he snapped. It shows the rest of the heroes kneeling as a sign of respect, but when it shows Gamora it just shows her walking away.

I'm pretty positive the past version of herself is alive in the current time line. If she wasn't, it would've showed her getting dusted like the rest of Thanos' army as to not leave any loose ends on her whereabouts.

LMAO....OKAY GUY...YOU OBVIOUSLY ROCK AT COLORING BOOKS...ENJOY YOUR EVENING🙂

reply

You are, of course, absolutely right: Gamora's alive. There's no way Stark would've snapped her away, and as you say: we see her in that scene you mentioned, after Stark died.

Kudos for trying to explain things reasonably. . .it's often a thankless task ;)

HOWEVER. . .

Her being in the present causes HAVOC in the timeline. Because now, all the stuff she did in the intervening years, Never Happened. Same with Nebula.

There are other huge problems w/the time shenanigans in this movie, but so much of it was done So well, that I've steadfastly refrained from pointing them out. On balance, the film is really a Major accomplishment.

reply

The Past-Gamora is still alive. The extended scene of Tony's death shows her sneaking away while everyone mourns Stark's death. She is also slated to show up in GOTG 3.

reply

EXTENDED AND DELETED SCENES ARE GARBAGE..THEY MEAN NOTHING TO THE FINISHED FILM...THAT SAID...GAMORA IS DEAD...ALTERNATE GAMORA APPARENTLY IS STILL ALIVE BASED ON AN EXTENDED SCENE AND THE NOTION THAT BECAUSE ORIGINAL GAMORA WAS SACRIFICED FOR THE SOUL STONE THAT HER SOUL IS TRAPPED INSIDE IT AND THE STONE HAS NO POWER OVER ALTERNATE GAMORA?...THUS ALTERNATE GAMORA IS STILL AROUND AN DIDNT GET SNAPPED,BUT THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW THAT IS AN EXTNDED SCENE AND A RUSSO BROTHERS INTERVIEW...THATS SOME SERIOUS PANDERING...RUSSOS SHOULD GROW SOME BALLS AND LEAVE HER DEAD.

reply

I think it's up to Kevin Feige and James Gunn. They wanted her alive.

I admit, it's cheap, but that's how they're doing it.

reply

MY ISSUE WITH THIS IS....ALTERNATE GAMORA DIDNT LIVE THROUGH ANY OF THE MCU EVENTS...SHE IS TECHNICALLY A DIFFERENT PERSON...AND THE ACTUAL GAMORA'S SOUL IS TRAPPED IN A STONE...WHAT IS THIS BEERFEST?...LETS KILL LANDFILL AND THEN IMMEDIATELY REPLACE HIM WITH HIS TWIN BROTHER WHO ALSO WANTS TO BE CALLED LANDFILL😣

reply

I don't get it. When I watched Endgame in the theater the Past Gamora was clearly alive at the end. They even had a scene with all of the guardians planning to take a trip to go find her. I don't see where the controversy is here. If you think she's dead then you missed the scene when they showed her alive at the end.

Also, I don't believe her presence causes havoc in the current timeline. They explained that if something is done in the past, the timeline splits creating a second one which exists separate from the 'original'. For example, going back and killing Thanos as a baby wouldn't have any impact on the current Thanos; it would just create a separate time-line in which Thanos is dead. This means everything accomplished by Gamorah still happened The current time-line is still unaltered, despite it being messes with so much.

I've only watched the movie once and that was when it was in the theater, but that's what I remember.

reply

Excellent point! Why couldn't they just do that they could have gone back and brought her from any one of the movie timelines up until End Game.

reply

Also they could have done the same with Quicksilver.

reply

Because the other timelines would have no Natasha then. If taken from any timeline when Thanos was alive it would mean she would not be sacrificed for the infinity stone (in the timeline she came from). Either, 1) someone else would need to be sacrificed, or 2) they wouldn't obtain it and fail all together.

If they took her from a timeline without Thanos, then the timeline has already been altered and, to some degree, she will not be the same Natasha.

Either way, it would be selfish to remove her from her natural timeline and irrevocably alter her original timeline just so our/ the current timeline can enjoy her presence.

The case of Gamorah was unintentional. Now that she is in the current timeline it would probably best not to keep messing with things and creating further divergences. That's my thought anyway.
