Marvel to introduce trans superhero

This is stupid. It's clear that Disney intends to go Full Woke for the next wave of Marvel films and they are going to ruin the brand while doing it.

THEY EXIST IN THE WORLD...WHY WOULD ONE CHARACTER OUT OF DOZENS IN THE MCU BEING TRANS BE A PROBLEM FOR ANYONE?...

reply

We shouldn't encourage people to do insane things instead of getting them the psychiatric help that they clearly need.

reply

WOW..NEVERMIND.

reply

Maybe because it is very hard to relate to.

Despite recent reports, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige did not intend to confirm that a transgender character will appear in an upcoming film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, two sources tell Variety.

While participating in a guest lecture series for the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles in December, Feige was asked if the studio has any plans “on bringing more Lgbt+ characters into the McU, specifically the T, trans characters.”

“Yes — absolutely, yes,” Feige said. “And very soon. In a movie that we’re shooting right now.”

While Feige’s answer appeared to respond to the specific question about a trans character, two sources close to the studio tell Variety that Feige only intended to respond to the first part about Lgbt+ characters, and he did not mean to imply that a trans character will be coming to the McU “very soon.”

Who cares?

reply

Yeah I'm pretty much done with Marvel at that point. It was fun while it lasted.

I haven't been able to watch anything since hearing about how "Thor: Ragnarok" made a laughingstock of Thor. He was my favorite super hero of the group, and they not only made him look stupid, they diminished his role, destroyed his home, and turned him into a fat slob in later movies.

reply

Well if they’re gonna do it, I hope they do it in some unique way. Like one of the heroes is a trans species instead of a trans sexual. It was a human who felt it was really an aardvark born in a person’s body, so with the advanced Marvel universe technology, it had already undergone species reassignment surgery and now looked like a squishy giant pink hand vacuum cleaner.

A man suffering from BIID (body integrity identity disorder) claimed that his leg was not his. He had life long conviction that one of his legs was not his. He tried many times to have it amputated. No reputable Dr would do it for him.
Should society have reinforced his personal truth and helped him chop off a body part or should he have gotten serious therapy and neurological treatment?

Question 2: Should there be BIID or apotemnophilia characters represented in the MCU?

Question 3: Should there be proper representation of Vegemite eaters in every single TV show and movie? Would the ubiquity of this representation seem forced and weird?

Don't forget about necrophilics. They need a superhero too.

Rofl! It'll flop faster than Elton John's wang does in the presence of sexy women.

Reminds me of when I heard about that lame, preachy, 3-part "Story of Us" they aired on ABC, which told the story of gay history in the US. It had the lowest ratings of any ABC program ever shown on tv. That can only mean that a tiny group of people were watching it, and everyone else changed the channel. That, and the few Alphabet people who did watch it got bored and said it was too preachy. That's pretty bad when they call such an important display of their culture "boring and preachy."

reply

To be fair I'd say that TV Stations in general are getting lower ratings because of streaming. In about 10-20 years there probably won't even be broadcast TV cause most everyone will be watching nothing but streaming on Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services. And they'll be getting all their news from the internet. I'm also sorry to say that I agree with the TC. I think transgenders are all mentally ill people. I think it's crazy for a man to insist he's a woman or for a woman to insist he's a man. It's not really normal for someone to reject who and what they are. This shouldn't be considered normal behavior and it most certainly shouldn't be encouraged.

reply

I feel bad for them. It's really hard, having to deal with a mental illness that makes you think you are something you're not.

reply

Yeah. I actually have a cousin who is transgender and he insists he's a girl and also takes Hormone pills. I worry about how those effect his body. I don't ever tell him how I feel about it though cause there's just no point. But then he's always been kind of a bit odd. Years ago when we were both 7 or 8 years old and at our Aunt's, Uncle's, and cousins' house he got bored and insisted he was a spy and that he had to break into our female cousin's lock box that had a diary in it because it contained military secrets. And I wouldn't go along with that and told his mom. It was a really weird thing.

reply

YEAH...THATS WHAT YOU TWO WERE DOING...

reply

Notice how low ratings are never due to poor or ill advised content? It is always some other excuse. Always. Otherwise a lesson might be learned.

reply

Something else I forgot to mention is that the Golden Globes this year ended up nominating more streaming shows than Television Shows.
