Really? Is this journalism?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/news.avclub.com/brie-larson-continues-to-trigger-mcu-fanboys-this-time-1837484516/amp

This article seems like a salty 13 year old girl trying to win an argument, not an adult. And THIS is the stuff people get paid to write about??? Brie Larson's Instagram posts, and who "liked" it and what emoji they used when other famous people "liked" the post? Complete with every internet nerd slang she could think of to seem "cool" in her shitty blog. I just shake my head at this point.

This article is just as pathetic as the supposed "dude-bros" as she put it, as if for some reason people aren't allowed to dislike an Instagram post, thus feeling the wrath of some little brat.

People need to start getting this through their fucking skulls...people are allowed to like OR dislike anything they want, for any reason they want. Who cares if someone says "Hey Natalie Portman, that isn't your hammer." Why is that comment taken so seriously by the author, but the comments by the actors are seen as playful banter? I'll tell you why, because of...you guessed it, identity politics. No negative comments about lady superheroes. It all must be positive, it all must be about the "strong, independent woman" narrative. Actually, no it doesn't, and they can't be joked around with just as much as anything else. How can you determine which comments are tongue in cheek, and which are "evil dudebros" set out to destroy all of the progress women have made?

I don't care about Thor's hammer. Larson and Portman can shove it up each other's asses all day if they want. I just laugh at what gets passed as journalism these days.

I think we're in the phase where comic book movies are going to start being more annoying than good, taken more seriously in the press because of gender and political issues, and moronic articles like this are going to keep coming, passing opinions off as facts. I'm done with them, comic book movies and articles.

You know what would be really awesome? A female superhero where NONE of the press, cast, or anyone involved in the film has to mention that she's a woman (Batwoman's horrible trailer, anyone?), and she just goes out and does her thing. Wouldn't that be something incredible???

I think that counts as a blogger.
News.avClub.com?

Ok. So blog or not, it's been posted on actual (supposedly) legitimate news sites, with (supposedly) real news.

I can't wait for the next article to see which celebrity on Instagram gave a "winky face" emoji to Brie Larson when she posts that she has eggs for breakfast, and then says that Captain Marvel will beat The Hulk's ass. Some solid news there. Worthy of a ton of articles.

They burned the "wow look at someone other than Thor lifting Thor's hammer" card already. Vision. Cap. Hella (crushes it to pieces with one hand). Next, Jane Foster. 😴

First of all, its AVClub, so no, its not journalism. Secondly, its about Brue Larson, one of the most despicable people in hollywood, so its very obviuos bait that you fell for.

A general rule of thumb is: If its an article that uses social media post for its not something you want to read.

And no, people are not allowed to like or dislike what they want. You will like what they want you to like or you are a racist, sexist, homophobic nazi.
