Why didn't they just. . . . (semi spoiler inside)

Have someone use the gauntlet and 'Snap' Iron back to health?

he could've tried it, or the hulk, or better yet Captain Marvel?

reply

It doesn't appear that the Gauntlet even with all of the Infinity Stones can actually restore life. Those that were "Decimated", their souls were under the control of the Soul stone. It's probably why they could be returned to their physical bodies. It is also probably why the Soul Stone demands a Soul for a Soul in order for it to be used.

It might also be that there is this balance to the stone that if you were indeed able to bring someone back to life (The Dead Person) the process would force you to forfeit your own (The Snapper the Living Person). That would make sense to me. And the over caveat would prevent the Infinity Stones from bringing back untold numbers of the dead back to the living without an equal number of living having to be sacrificed.

A Soul for a Soul. The Infinity Stones don't make the wearer a god, nor a God, nor Omnipotent, nor Omnipresent, nor Omniscient

So get a terminally ill cancer patient that is going to die anyway, and wants to bring back a hero like Tony, and let them snap it?

reply

Sure that would be a self-sacrifice that anyone would make if they could make that sacrifice. In other words, "You'd CUT the wire". Nice job Tony!

reply

Exactly. Tony's family could even give the cancer patients family millions as well to help raise any future children, etc. "Everybody wins".

reply

Heh, nice catch there.

We could argue that it was similar to getting soul stone, using all the stones requires some price to pay, and it's irreversible.
