Why did Rogers... (spoilers)

give his shield and Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson instead of Bucky Barnes? You'd think he'd choose Bucky because he's a soldier, a better fighter, and also his best friend.

reply

I had the same question! I dont know what the reason is for the movie but the real reason is probably because Disney thinks Falcon is a more popular hero.

reply

As I understand it, in the comics, Steve did give the mantle to Sam at one point, so it makes zsense to me. Besides, I think Bucky was as tired of fighting as Cap was.

reply

In the comics, both Bucky and Sam became Captain America at some point... In the movies, it made sense they chose Sam because he's younger and more idealistic and not compromised by years of being a brainwashed assassin, like Bucky. Plus he is already known to the public as an Avenger and ally of Steve Rogers, so it makes sense from a PR standpoint he would take up the mantle.

reply

Aren't the wings better than a bulletproof shield though? He doesn't have super strength or speed.

reply

Because empty-headed multiculturalism.

reply

^empty-headed ignorance

reply

What was I thinking? Your ad hominem response has completely persuaded me.

Except not.

Maybe you could respond with a post that's, say, responsive?

Tell me: based on what we've seen in the movies, why is Sam a better narrative choice than Bucky?

Don't worry, I'll wait.

reply

Here's why it's empty-headed ignorance:

1. Bucky is compromised. He spent years being brainwashed.

2. "As I understand it, in the comics, Steve did give the mantle to Sam at one point"
Proof:

3. Proof that you're a racist:
-You passively admit that you would have NO problem with Sam becoming Captain America if he was white, as you would have no reason to WHINE about "multiculturalism" (a term which represents the state of humanity on Earth -- Which is a huge reality check for your labeling of multiculturalism as "empty-headed," where you basically call reality "stupid")

Chew on that. I'm sure you'll come back with some meaningless self-justifications, I'd love to read them for the entertainment value, so don't hold back.

reply

Oh, and ad hominem is NOT a fallacy when the person (you) IS NOT PRESENTING AN ARGUMENT.

You're not saying anything, you're just calling something stupid. Thus, I can ONLY address YOU and your attitude, as there is no point given to debate.

You don't even understand what fallacies are, do you?

reply

Who wants to act shocked by this response? Typical alt reich scum that plagues the internet.

Goddamn, it feels really good knowing “PC” (aka buzzword for not being strictly pro-white guy) showbiz is never ever going to pander to your extremely unevolved kind (you get all your white power propaganda from faux news and this current admiration and that’s plentiful). Keep crying, Davy Duke.

reply

I feel rather that the shield is just a tool/weapon they can use in their battles.

Steve Rogers is Captain America. Someone else having the shield doesn't make them Captain America.

reply

Regardless how close of friends they are, they're very different people. Not only that, but in the public eye, Bucky is still more than likely looked at as a terrorist. I also don't imagine he trusts himself with how he was brainwashed despite seeming to be fixed.
