#NotMyThor is gaining momentum

Seriously, what they did to Thor is this movie is absolutely TERRIBLE.

I LOVED fat drunk gamer Thor!

He was hilarious, he was touching, he was vulnerable for the first time, he was even admirable! Because the one thing that really broke his heart was his failure to save half the universe.

Driving home from the movie the first comment my son said about the movie was he didn't like how they made Thor into a goofball. Since these movies are primarily directed at his 12-18 age range, I'll go with his opinion.

Gotta admit though, I chuckled out loud at his first scene when him, Korg, and Miek were playing Fortnite, and then Thor got on the headset and threatened the kid who was trash-taking them. Good stuff.

Glad to see that he survived and will now be hooking up with the GotG.

I wouldn't say the movies mainly target his demographic necessarily. Considering it started 11 years ago, Endgame was definitely meant for people who have been watching them from the beginning.

reply

You're correct...probably should've expanded that to say 12-25 as the 'primary' target audience.

I'm in my 50's and I went, so I realize it appeals to older folks too. :)

reply

Right on!

reply

According to a report i read , so far 60% of the audience is over 25 years old males

I wasn't big into fat Thor, but for his character arc it makes sense. It seems like his humour is forced because it is. He's probably the most tragic character in the MCU at this point and it seems he forces humour as a means to try and make light of his situation, but it seems to be more hysteria than anything. Not only has he lost basically everything, but he thinks the snap is solely his fault.

I'm sure now that the dusted have been brought back he'll shape up in GotG Vol.3.

reply

It was understandable, but they dragged it out too long.

reply

I thought he was hysterical. He can always get back in shape for the next movie.

reply

"I thought it was great how they nerfed and basically humilated one of the core Avengers by making him yell at children over a video game, run away scared, and cry to his mommy."

The only people saying this are people who don't actually like Thor. I'd say the same thing to any character I don't like as well because I don't care if they don't get any shine in the movie. Saying he'll be back in the next movie is bullshit. He should have been back in THIS movie.
