The dates in Endgame...

...definitively show that Spider-Man: Homecoming's timeline makes no sense. It starts in 2012 after the first Avengers movie and then jumps 8 years later to just after the events of Civil War. Which in this film would be 2020. This is such a bizarre oversight.

reply

Homecoming already confirmed they messed up when they said 8 years later. Homecoming begins 4 years later in 2016 which is right around the time of Civil War.

reply

Yeah but before Endgame Feige tried to explain that it did make sense and that the dates that the movies were set in didn't correlate to the dates of their release.

reply

Feige explained it that way because he didn't know. Even though everything was pointing to Avengers happening in 2012 and Civil War happening in 2016 they had not committed to an official timeline yet.

The only real oversight was (Nebula?) using earth dates when talking to Thanos. That threw me off when she said 2014 or whatever. I really wish they would say “earth years”, or something relatable but not specific to our solar system’s time keeping.

Agreed

reply

I wouldn’t be surprised if later blu rays and stuff have the date changes.
