Tony's gauntlet

I thought you needed to go to Nidavellir or some place like that to get a special gauntlet made to hold the power of the infinity stones? But it's not explained how Tony was able to make one.

reply

T Stark is essentially the embodiment of human ingenuity in design mechanics. However even HIS best effort was literally fatally flawed, killing its user. It was a 3 hour movie. But I see you are like me...maybe a half-hour less on the tear-jerker scenes and more focus on building stuff!

reply

Yes. A gauntlet that cripples Hulk's arm and kills a human is no damn gauntlet at all. Thanos only got wounded when using the stones to destroy them.

reply

Thanos only got wounded? No, he clearly states it nearly KILLED him.

reply

Maybe it nearly killed him because it has already been damaged from the snap

He clearly wasn’t severely injured after the snap, which is why, for a moment, I thought his injuries were inconsistent with Infinity’s War’s ending

reply

Did you see the state of the gauntlet after he used it in Infinity War? It was mangled on the end of his arm.

The point being that even a being with the strength of Thanos is not invincible, and neither is the Hulk.

Thanos used the stones twice, the second time he nearly died. His hand and arm, his face were badly scarred and he walked with a limp.

And he also had no strength left to fight anyone off.

reply

That was exactly my point

The snap damaged the gauntlet

The NEXT use damaged Thanos himself

reply

Wait, you were complaining that Tony was able to make the Gauntlet at all, and now you are complaining that he wasn't able to make one as good as Idri? Make up your mind.

reply

Well, all that would be really needed, was little bit of dialogue to explain it.

reply

Because Brawndo's got electrolytes? Dude it's all make-believe!

reply

In the last 11 years, Stark has built a few AI's, a nano-tech suit, created a new element, solved time travel, and built the original Iron Man suit IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS! As Stane put it.

Having him be able to crank out a glove capable of wielding the stones makes sense.

reply

Yup, after the Cinematic Universe rolled in talking trees and raccoons, and now time travel, it should be no surprise that Tony would have the expertise to create his own Infinity Gauntlet, and ironically, he wasn't able to shield the effects of the gauntlet snap to the rest of his body, why oh why Tony did you not build in a network of safeguard nano particles that shield the effects of the gauntlet snap?
