just got SPOILED!

Was foolishly reading comments on Daily Mail Hemsworth vs ScarJo Radio 1 'insult' challenge article and accidentally pressed 'Worst comments' (i.e. the ones that been downvoted most) instead of 'Best comments' as I realised any spoilers would be in 'worst' section and before I realised the mistake there it was... just 3 words .. 😞.. the shock is still with me.. (knew it would be either one character or the other but now its ruined ..and now thinking back at the previous films its kind of obvious it had to be that character.. and also thinking back to some supposedly non spoiler articles i read a while back hinted at it)

Funny thing is I dont know why I even bothered to read the comments (just wanted to see what ppl were saying about the insults Hemsworth & scarjo were saying to each other I guess) I been so careful avoiding reading comments to various news stories and anything in here etc the past couple weeks as know ppl been posting spoilers..i even knew there would be spoilers in the 'worst comments' section of this DMail story so made sure I wouldn't read those but as I said I accidentally pressed 'worst'.. (Daily Mail should really have deleted it..which would've saved me. Think they are supposed to vet the comments before they get posted so anything too offensive etc dosnt get posted..)

This happened back in 2013 with Star Trek Into Darkness around the time of its premiere about a week before general release was reading comments on an unrelated Trek news story late at night when should really have been asleep but couldn't sleep.. and someone had posted what happened at the end (who died/was brought back and who the villain was as upto that point no one was certain) right there and then as was reading comments (remember the utter shock of having read it before could stop myself similar to now with Endgame) .. then I checked the next day and comment had been removed by admin (thus proving it was true).. also when was going into see Indy Crystal Skull in 08 this big nerd was coming out and talking loudly to his mates about 'the massive UFO at the end' (which kind of spoiled the surprise of if it was going to be actual aliens or not. I remember being quite pissed off about that)

Anyway had been doing so well with Endgame. Was due to see it today.. now I don't feel like bothering..

My fault tho.. shouldn't have clicked on the comments to the news article. cheers Daily Mail 😠

Edit - here is the article with spoiler comment (click on 'worst')

Daily mail I stay away from for movies like this. It's bad enough the comments spoiling it, it's even worse when its Daily Mail doing it.

I took a two day break from the internet until I saw it last night.

Still worth seeing, but I can tell your irked about it.

Still go see the movie. The death of this character is badass and they go out like a hero. It’s done really well.

Don’t let the spoiler trolls ruin it for you, there’s loads more surprises to the movie than who dies.

I was avoiding any and all comments on anything Endgame related. When Infinity War was coming out, I got a spoil watching a Jimmy Kimmel interview where some jackass wrote "Gamora, Vision, and Loki die" in the comments.

Sucka, will be watching 2nite but I got spoiled bec I watched it alredy last nite.

reply

Meh...who cares. it's just a comic book movie man. These stories have been done to death in printed form. There not much surprises for us old comic fans....so don't feel bad...

Go watch it still. It’s one thing to know the ending. It’s another to experience it. And no more comment reading before films ok? There will be future movies you will want to watch and now you know for the future. I’ve had enough movies spoiled where I’ve especially learned to avoid unfiltered comments sections for articles, Twitter etc. Articles do a good job (mostly) of whether they contain spoiler material. User comments... not so much.

still no seen it. the total shock of getting viciously spoiled coupled with the fact its a mammoth 3hrs long (cmon..3 HOURS?!) and of course all the hype/huge box office/huge audiences (which will mean very crowded every seat taken) has just taken any desire to see it away .. maybe I see it in a couple of weeks when its all died down... I was def planning to see it opening wkend on Friday tho (until I got spoiled) as although not a huge MCU fan (only seen about 5 or 6 of them at cinema with rest on dvd and no even seen the likes of AntMans, BP and Cap Marvel) did see Infinity War and was seriously impressed and wanted to see EG asap before got spoiled .

Whatever spoilers you learned likely won't detract from your enjoyment of the film. It would be like not watching the Godfather because someone told you Michael Corleone goes from being the runt to ruler and kills the main adversary. Sure, that spoils some of the narrative tension, but the beauty of a great film is nearly always the how and why, not the what or when.

Dude, the 3 hour duration is not a problem with this movie. Other than the first half hour which is quite slow, the rest is fast paced and at the end, I doubt you'll feel the difference in runtime between Infinity War and Endgame.

Saw it last night and glad I did before I got anything else spoiled.. Ok had Tonys death spoiled but didn't know how hed go out exactly - was expecting something like the Star Trek II radiation chamber/hand on glass end with Cap & Tony in the place of Kirk & Spock (e.g Tony sacrifices himself in a radiation chamber or something so Cap & Co can make one last jumps to defeat Thanos and that Cap Marvel would defeat him ) However, totally had no idea about black widow , or Cap Americas ending (aside fleetingly seeing a pic of what looked to be old Cap on twitter but had no idea how it would fit into the film and had totally forgotten about it so when Cap went away at the end expected him to return in 5secs with Scarjo lol) also didn't know about Thanos' 2 deaths (although presumed hed be killed at the end) And although had read there might be some time travel in the vein of BTTF2 interacting with previous films didn't know for sure or which movies (and didn't know how they'd do the time travel exactly) and didn't know wed see Robert Redford again etc
