What should the end credit scene/scenes be?

Or should they even have one at all? It would be nice to see a little nod to something that'll be built up into another major story arc like Thanos initially was, but considering Endgame is the end of everything that has been building over the last 10+ years, I honestly dont think it needs one.

If anything I'd like to see something related to Galactus, the X-Men, or Annihilus. If they're planning on a Secret Wars storyline, maybe something with the Beyonder? Though I think it should be kept a little more light-hearted since the stakes of this movie are so high and we might lose a couple of our heroes.

I like that. Even if they're not supposed to be hinting at the XMEN any time soon.

reply

Yeah I've heard that they have a five year plan for phase 4 and it doesn't include the X-Men. I don't know why they couldn't slowly build with tidbits here and there though.

reply

I would prefer they don't include a post-credits scene, but if I were to decide, I'll just have a tie-in to Spider-Man: Far From Home.

reply

@EvilPinata

I doubt that , unfortunately Feige confirmed that there won't be X-Men in Phase 4 , not sure about F4 but i hope post credit scene is related to them

reply

I know that they won't be in phase 4, but I figure it could be a way to subtly build them a few end credit scenes here and there without actually featuring them. I would love to see the Fantastic Four too though.

reply

The problem is , they need to cast the actors to film the scene , i guess is too early to have a X-Men or FF4 post credit scene in Endgame , unless they use CGI only characters.

reply

They wouldn't even need to show any characters though. For the Fantastic Four they could just show the Avengers tower get a new sign for the Baxter building or something like that. Even just a name drop somewhere.

reply

That would be great!

Howard the Duck on skis jumping a shark!

reply

I don't feel they need one, I see this as the end of a chapter.

Perhaps if they have some unused footage of Stan Lee it might be good to put that in during the end credits.

reply

Yeah I agree. I don't think an end credit scene is necessary. The funny thing is though that Endgame isn't even the movie that caps off phase 3.

reply

That would also be good!

reply

You realize they didn't get back the rights to all those things til after this movie was completely finished filming, right? They literally just got the rights back 3 months ago in January.

reply

They still had plenty of time to do a few pickup shots to include.

My money is on Hugh Jackman making an appearance, so at least his incarnation of Wolverine is included in the MCU as the end credits scenes are considered canon.

reply

I'd imagine it's highly unlikely we'll see Hugh as Wolverine again and honestly I'm okay with that. If it has to do with the X-Men though I don't imagine they'd be showing any characters since they have a five year plan that doesn't include the X-Men. Plans can change though.

I don't think you understand how these things work. They already had what they were filming in mind before the deal went through. They weren't going to change it. Also, no way they will keep Hugh Jackman. They'll reboot and recast everyone when they eventually make X-Men. Cause they don't want to use the older movies. They will want to do their own thing that is different from the older movies. Frankly different would be good. Maybe we can finally have a more tough Rogue like the comics. Not the meek scared girl from the old movies.

reply

I know EXACTLY how these things work.

As late as last week they were likely STILL putting the finishing touches to Endgame, its quite a regular thing that movies are still in post production mere days before their release date.

Changing an end credits scene is no big deal for them and can be done by a Second Unit director and a couple of guys, in fact it could have been filmed months ago, knowing that the deal was to be sealed on 20th March.

You're right, they will entirely reboot X-Men, but as Hugh Jackman was seen as one of the few elements that Fox got absolutely right about their iterations, it could be a nice touch to feature him, because otherwise, what end credits scene could they actually do?

Endgame wraps up this series of MCU movies, I doubt they will be hinting at the next big bad guy so soon, but this is all speculation, but to suggest they wouldn't have time to do something like that, man, you're wrong about that ;)

reply

They could've shot those scenes and just not have used them if the deal didn't go through. Plus it doesn't even need to be a character showcase if it's just a nod to those characters.
