Mary sue to the rescue?

I know that Endgame was made a while ago. But can you IMAGINE the shitstorm if its a " feminist "movie?.The culmination of over 10 years of movies and Captain Marvel saves half the universe? Nah they cant' can they...

That was my prediction as well. I think CM will be an integral part of defeating Thanos. She can fly through space without a suit and she was the only one summoned at the end of IW. No one paged poor Hawkeye.

Captain Marvel is the very obvious Deus ex Machina for this movie.

reply

I doubt it. I'm sure she'll give a helping hand, but the original six Avengers were left alive for a reason.

reply

I'm thinking the opposite. She was so powerful in her movie that it's set up an expectation that she'll kick Thanos' ass in Endgame when really I reckon he'll put her out of action for a large majority of the movie. Thanos still has the stones and her power comes from the space stone, not hard to see that Thanos might even destroy it to de-power Captain Marvel.

I highly doubt the Russo brothers will let Captain Marvel steal this movie away from Iron Man, Captain America and Thor seeing as this is their last movie.

This.
First off I don't think Captain Marvel is a Powerful in the MCU as she is in the comics (kind of how they depowered Hulk) plus it would be stupid and disrespectful to have this random character come in and save the Original avengers after a decade of fighting.

reply

In the comics, she lost her powers for a while so this is a possibility.

This movie has only one possible conclusion: Where each and every one of sixty or seventy superheroes who are stars in their own right make a vital contribution to the defeat of Thanos.

Whatever the writers got paid for the upcoming mess, it wasn't enough.

reply

She'll definitely play a role. But probably something similar to Vision in AoU.
