Thanos reminded me of MCU Kingpin a little bit.

A big burly bald guy with nigh unbreakable durability and tremendous political reach, but he's incredibly sensitive and vulnerable on the inside. He did everything he could to make sure his world could flourish and survive after becoming overwrought. And he thought he could save by destroying a chunk of its population. He has a messiah saviour complex, but really he's just a lunatic with genocidal tendencies.
