Anyone perfer this over Endgame

Like I loved Endgame but I perfer this movie a bit more for some reason. I feel like IW has a much bigger rewatchablity factor than Endgame imo.

reply

I prefer endgame over infinity war because it was a bigger movie

reply

Yeah when I first saw Endgame I had a hard time deciding which was better because of how big Endgame was

reply

That's not what he asked. He asked which one you prefer. I assume that's an abbreviation for putting a bunch of small holes in something.

reply

I like Infinity War a LOT more than I do Endgame. Huge longtime Marvel fan here, just not really into Endgame.

reply

I do prefer this one. Endgame had so many huge moments and so much emotion. Its impact is everlasting and is easily the biggest movie in the entire universe, and always will be. However, I do prefer Infinity War. Like you said "for some reason", as it is hard to explain.

reply

Kind of easy to explain:
Infinity War had a story that followed an mostly unwavering plot.

The main character was the villain with a goal; the heroes were fractured but focused on a goal; the stakes were extremely high, and there were a lot of cost and consequences that took place.

Endgame nullified a lot of that by making most of the middle section of the film a comedy time heist, with the traditional goofy Marvel segments.

They also cut themselves off at the knees with the big final battle by having some ridiculous moments that completely took anyone who isn't a complete zombie-Leftist out of the film, such as the all-women hero segment, which made no sense, or side-lining Doctor Strange to battling a dam breakage for no logical reason.

The fight with the main Avengers before the portal opened -- with Thanos battling Thor, Captain America and Iron Man, was really well done. But a lot of moments that should have taken place, such as Hulk getting a rematch with Thanos, or Doctor Strange and The Maw having a proper battle (maybe with help from Wanda), were all side-lined for some goofy antics instead.

By comparison, Endgame felt less honest in its depiction of certain events compared to Infinity War, which felt more grounded despite being a fantasy sci-fi film. In a way, Infinity War felt like it respected the lore and character abilities more given the circumstances. And that, in my opinion, is why Endgame is the lesser of the two films.

reply

I absolutely do. Endgame wasn't a bad film, but it wasn't great, and it was certainly a letdown as the followup to a masterpiece like Infinity War.

reply

This is my guy(or girl) right here, everyone! lol

But seriously though, I feel the same way. I loved the fan service moments in Endgame but Infinity War was a much better film. It just packs a punch & is just a heavier film. Like you can feel the weight it carries. Literally the entire universe is gonna feel it if this Mad Titan wins

And as much as I enjoyed the Endgame experience, Part of me genuinely wishes that Infinity War was a standalone film.

THANOS PREVAILS,HALF OF EVERYONE IS GONE?...THATS A SHITTY STANDALONE EXPERIENCE.

reply

The heroes actually lose for once & the villain achieves his goal for once.

Actually loved that ending. But to each their own

reply

SO....NO ENDING.

reply

It IS an ending. It could legit stand on it's own.

It was Thanos' movie. He basically won by the end of it

ITS EMPIRE STRIKES BACK....ITS A TO BE CONTINUES...PERIOD.

Watching The Vile Eye on youtube about Palpatine, shows that Palpatine was one of those rare villians that got everything he wanted and worked for and even held onto it for 30 years!

I love that kinda stuff. I'm not saying villains should win more often but I absolutely love when heroes completely lose for once.

reply

I do. Endgame took longer to get going. Scrap the Cap/Widow peanut butter sandwich scene. Scrap the Ronin anime scene. Skip right to Scott exiting the van. Show the audience all the doom and gloom from his perspective as he walks through unkempt streets. Spend more time with Tony figuring out time travel. Spend more time testing it. Then begin the time heist.

reply

Oh man, that is a great point about starting endgame right as Scott exists the Van and showing a sequence of him finding it all from his perspective. That would have been brilliant.

Also, they could cut Captain Marvel out completely; she did not earn a right to be there with the others yet (they needed an intro film for her, that didn't suck, at least a year sooner). Her character was shoe horned in as hell and it showed and she did not fit. It was great they cut her out for most of the film but they should have cut her entirely. The Black widow film should have come out between Infinity War and Endgame; save captain Marvel for after Endgame and their (doomed) Phase 4.

reply

GROW UP...CAPTAIN MARVEL WAS A GOOD FLICK AND HER CHARACTER WORKS WELL IN THE MCU.

reply

That's a tough one due to the fact that these two films were part of the same one, broken into two parts.

reply

IW is way better than Endgame. Endgame took about an hour and a half too long and had too many cringeworthy scenes. Infinity War should have won Best Picture, it was epic.

ONE SHOT OF WOMEN STANDING TOGETHER AND YOU PULL OUT THAT "CRINGEWORTHY" BULLSHIT.😣

reply

Having finally got round to watching both Infinity War and Endgame, I think so yes.
