snap was more fair and also had the chance to bring some of the dead back?

Thanos' snap should not just kill half of living people. It should have oblitrate everything about them, basically erase any trace and memory and evidence that those half population ever existed in the first place.
That way nobody would hold grudge againts Thanos. They'll never remember. Win-win.
