It was questionable Avengers will reach the 2B mark but the competition so far is not earning as much as it was expected (Solo and to a lesser extent DP2) so with almost 36M short it's a safe bet AIW will get there. BP won't manage to get that nice round number of 700M but either way its earnings (domestic in particular) are spectacular. Disney probably lessened its chances with the DVD release, guess they weren't expecting 700M was a possibility a few months ago.

On IMDb AIW is listed to had a Japan release in late April, but on BoxOfficeMojo they've said it arrives there later this month. Was the April date just a premiere/limited release kinda thing (that doesn't make much sense), who's wrong here? If AIW still has Japan then I don't see why was anyone concerned about it reaching 2B.

Its basically coming down to AIW over performing in China....
When it debuted in China to 200 M....All The Projections had it topping out at 340 to 350 M....
But Now its heading toward a 370 to 375 Million total gross...
that 25 to 35 Million extra is going to be the Key....
Every Projection I made up until Last weekend was based on AIW making 340 to 350 M in China...but last weekend it became clear that AIW was gonna top 350 ...
I'm pretty sure AIW is gonna end between 2.015 and 2.040 Bilion ....
Its Got between 30 to 35 Million Left to Make Domestically
Another 10 to 16 to Make In China
maybe another 10 to 20 Million fro remaining overseas markets
