Undercuts the arcs of the previous MCU films

In Thor Ragnarok it is shown the Thor doesn't need is hammer to tap into his power, but that his true power comes from within, well it looks like he needs that hammer after all! (And all of most of the Asgardians just die between movies?)

Spiderman says he doesn't need the suit and rejects the offer to be an Avenger in Spiderman:Homecoming, but you can't be a friendly neighborhood Spiderman if there's no neighborhood, so suit it is.

Iron Man gets a surgery to remove his need for an Arc-Reactor in Iron Man 3 so he can go back to trying to live a more regular life, but I guess the chest bling just looked too cool!

Dr. Banner learns to control his rage in his forgotten movie, but it turns out the Hulk persona had a mind of his own. Not enough Zen.

Thanos is so strong that Thor's lightning isn't powerful enough.

Thanos is so strong that Spider-man needs the siut.

Thanos is so strong that Iron Man needs his nanotech thing.

Thanos is so strong he scares Hulk into submission.

Perfecty makes sense in the context of the film.

Tony got surgery because the shrapnel in his chest was dangerous, there was never any need to have the Arc Reactor attached to his body. His chest bling in IW is something he "wears", it's not physically part of him.

Actually, the conversation between him and Pepper indicate he had surgery to have that thing implanted.

Which, you know.....is weird.

1. But Thor didn’t need a hammer. He needed an axe. ;) Yes, he did tap into his powers. The problem is, they weren’t powerful enough to defeat the significantly stronger Thanos; thus, Axe it is.

2. Parker rejecting the suit and offer to be an Avenger in Homecoming is kind of irrelevant. I mean the kid never did say never, right? He said he was going to stick around in the neighborhood for a while, yet he knew one day he would eventually join his heroes. And in IW he needed the Iron Spidey suit otherwise he would’ve been a goner. Once he was on the spinning donut (which he didn’t intend to board after Stark tried to send him away), he was aware of the stakes and so he happily accepted the role of an Avenger. Plus I’m positive being in that new suit quickly changed his mind.

4. And Banner. You know, it’s like he said in The Avengers: “I’m always angry.”

Respectfully, I think you're grasping here.

Thor doesn't need the hammer to tap into his power, any more than Captain America needs a shield to tap into his. That doesn't mean Thor won't be significantly more formidable if wielding one of the most powerful weapons ever made. He needs all his power AND a mighty weapon if he's going to battle someone as strong as Thanos.

Spider-man was content to remain a local, neighborhood hero, using the less-ramped-up Stark suit, until he was falling to his death and the new suit saved his life. Plus, with Thanos promising to kill half the neighborhood, Peter made the choice to fight him.

You're actually right, though for the wrong reason. The arc reactor is not surgically implanted. It's just something Stark wears to look cool. So he IS living a regular life-- he's even engaged to be married!-- and wears it as just what you said, cool-looking bling.

Dr. Banner has never learned to control his rage. He fled the planet entirely because he could not control it. There has literally never been one instant in the entire MCU franchise where Banner controlled his rage.

Well, that's why it's called part 1 darling..

That's comic books. New writer always takes a dump on the last one.

Boy ain't THAT the truth....

Thor Ragnarok explained the hammer wasn't his source of strength, but it didn't show him to be stronger without it. Thor couldn't land a scratch on Hela without his hammer. The problem with the hammer was that her right to the throne subverted its enchantment. Thor's only way to win was with Ragnarok, something that won't work against Thanos.

In Homecoming, Spidey decided the super suit wasn't necessary. When he was leaving earth's atmosphere on an alien spacecraft, it quickly became necessary.

Age of Ultron already snapped Tony back to reality from his Iron Man 3 arc. Now because of Ultron and the events Civil War, he has evolved to Bleeding Edge armor which requires him to wear a reactor.

After Age of Ultron, Hulk stayed in that form for two years, developing a personality.

Thinking about it, the Russos actually did a good job tying in arcs that were set up by the previous Avengers film. In Age of Ultron, Thor's vision revealed the six stones with the mind stone at the center of a great source of power. The only caviat was Thor didn't know who Thanos was, and assumed he was looking at Ultron's possible destiny. Thor's vision prompted him to play a part in creating Vision, a being capable of protecting the Mind Stone from becoming the centerpiece of that great power. Lo and behold, Vision ended up being the final piece and most difficult stone for Thanos to obtain.
